The Singer / Songwriter
Growing up in a musical family in Bogata, Texas, Kristi spent many hours playing piano, singing and “jamming” with other members of her family. As a part of the music ministry team at her church and performance groups in high school, expression through music was part of everyday language.
Kristi’s involvement with seniors began very early in life. Her mother, Bobbie Cawley, returned to work as Administrator at Red River Healthcare Center when Kristi was three weeks old. During her early years, it was not unusual for Kristi to spend after-school hours doing activities with the residents or singing at a resident church service.
Kristi graduated from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M at Commerce) with a Masters in Education. After a few years in teaching, Kristi found her “true love” in working with seniors when she too joined the healthcare world as a long-term care Administrator. While putting her teaching skills and her passion for seniors together, Kristi realized the power of making a difference.
Today, Kristi is employed as Vice President of Field Sales by Brookdale Senior Living. She continues to enjoy her role in teaching others about seniors and about senior living options. She spends her leisure time dabbling in songwriting, playing piano and is currently taking guitar lessons in an effort to continue to grow musically.
